Twink Turner

Who Is Twink?

Twink Turner, nicknamed “Twink” because her eyes twinkled, was an artist and a passionate advocate for the arts within her community. She was a dedicated public school educator, a proud feminist, a lover of animals, children, nature, and last but not least a woman who had a constant zest for life! Twink always knew how to make the most mundane of tasks FUN and was often found leaving random acts of kindness in her trail wherever she went.

In this spirit, Twink’s daughter, Jenny Turner founded Twinkle to honor her Mom’s legacy and their shared love for arts and community engagement. Jenny is a former ballet dancer with the Miami City Ballet and Ballet Austin. She is currently on the faculty at the Pacific Northwest Ballet and does community engagement work on behalf of Pacific Northwest Ballet’s I.D.E.A Committee (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility). She has worked at a handful of nonprofit organizations across the country and holds an MA from Teachers College, Columbia University where she was a Margaret Mead Fellow. One of her favorite and most inspiring images is that of Pete Seeger’s banjo which states, “this machine surrounds hate and forces it to surrender”. Wouldn’t you agree?
